TechRadar, one of my favorite websites, came out with a list of 20 websites that changed the world. As I stated on the most recent Moxie Mo Show, I agree with most of their list while I disagree with a few of their choices as well.

If you think about the internet and how much it’s literally exploded in just a short amount of time, it doesn’t take a long time to see just how much technology has truly changed the world. Remember when Geocities was the only social networking site around and no one ever used Google?

Take a look at TechRadar’s list. What websites do you think they left off? Leave a comment below stating your most favorite website and why you think it’s changed the world.

As you know, I’m a big fan of Jott (click here to view my review on what Jott does). Jott just released a new feature that really has my interest so I thought I’d share it with all of you. Jott Feeds lets you listen to your favorite news and RSS Feeds all from your phone! You can set Jott up so that when you call you can get all of your latest Twitter updates. You can also have Jott tell you the latest news on CNN, TechCrunch or any other website/blog you want! You literally set up Jott’s Feeds and with a press of a phone button, Jott will speak what you used to only be able to read!

I find this new feature incredible! How many times am I in my car and wondering what my friends’ latest updates on Twitter are? Or what Lifehacker has just posted? This is really an incredible feature and I’m glad Jott has added it.

So whatcha waiting for? Get your free account with Jott today and make sure you set up a Jott Feed for my blog (or click here and you’ll go directly to Jott!)

For those of you who are new to RSS and feeds, all you need to do is click on the orange icon (RSS) in the top right sidebar of my blog and you’ll get the link to my RSS feed. Simply copy that into your Jott Feed and you’ll always be caught up with Jeff McCord’s Blog! I’m literally just a phone call away!

dailycandy1 DailyCandy Want Something to Do?

I’ve always been guilty, typically on a Friday afternoon, of asking the question of “What’s there to do?” Thankfully, DailyCandy has the answer. DailyCandy is a website that provides up to the day updates on things to do in a particular city. The DailyCandy Dallas site is a wonderful and informative site that gives you all the latest and greatest things to do in categories such as lifestyle, fashion, travel, house/home and food/drink.

Their site offers a subscription that will be emailed to you daily or weekly and they give you some of the coolest things to do in the wonderful city that you currently live. As of this post, DailyCandy covers cities such as Dallas, Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, London, Miami, New York, Philadelphia, Washington DC and Seattle.

So check it out. I promise they give you nothing but moxie, fun, family-oriented and fashionably-oriented things to do so you’ll never have to ask the question again!

A Moxie Way to Surf the Web

Wednesday, April 23rd, 2008

Cali Lewis, from Geekbrief.tv, just informed all of us viewers about an awesome new technology that, to me, is so moxie I couldn’t help but write about it as well! Publicis and Hal Riney have a new way to surf their site… WITH THE MOTION OF YOUR HANDS! No more touching the keys on your keypad. No more using the mouse to navigate. As long as you have a webcam, you can use the “Air Hands” technology to navigate!

Check out the demo I made while on the site… it’s fantastic and quite moxie! icon wink A Moxie Way to Surf the Web

You will see, at first, the intro to the website where you do a test to make sure your webcam is monitoring your hand signals. Then you’ll see the actual site and me navigating my way (left, right, and top) through it.

Please DIGG this if you think it’s interesting/cool…

Firefox vs Internet Explorer

Monday, December 17th, 2007

So any of you who know me know that I’ve been doing a bit of updating in my computer life. I’m trying out new things and even considering if I should buy a Macbook versus using the IBM laptop I’ve used for years.

With that said, I decided to try out Mozilla’s Firefox browser. So far I like it. It’s similar to Internet Explorer but it also has better plugins. Does anyone else use it? I remember Will Pate mentioning he uses it on one of his CommandN podcasts so I think that’s maybe where the idea came into my mind.

I’m curious to hear from any of you who use Firefox… what are the big advantages?

Happy Monday!
-Jeff
