What is Boxee?
Saturday, November 8th, 2008As I discussed on Moxie Mo Show #32, Boxee is an open-source hack for the Apple TV. But what is it? Thanks to Veronica Belmont of Tekzilla, I heard of Boxee last week and ever since then, I’ve been mesmerized by it. I want it, but I am a bit fearful of installing it as there seems to be somewhat of a difficulty in knowing SSH and open-tunneling?
Back to the basics, my friends. Boxee is open source, which means it’s free and programmers can add functionality to it at all times, which is always awesome. Basically, you sign up for the beta here and then you download the program. Once it’s downloaded, you then have to install it on a USB flash drive in which you then plug in to your Apple TV.
