Moxie Mo Show: Episode 9

We’re still having a blast in Destin, Florida! Thank you all for the comments and emails, I appreciate each and every one of them. I hesitated making this episode because in all honesty, it has NOTHING to do with computers or techy-news, but it does show my most favorite animal in the world doing some fun tricks. We went to the Gulfarium, the nation’s oldest aquarium, to see the dolphins and sharks and sea lions OH MY! It was NO Sea World… but it was fun.

Also, a gorgeous night shot in the waters of Destin, Florida. Finally, the ocean waves had picked up and the current was strong… the way I like it! I hope you enjoy!

Also, I want to pay respect and honor to Randy Pausch’s family. A man who was so smart, so witty and who made the best lecture of life I have ever seen. He passed away this weekend from his courageous battle with cancer. He was an instant celeb on YouTube and Oprah and he deserves all of us to watch his Last Lecture.

    Hey Jeff,
This is your podcast. Let the subject flow from what you love. If it is tech this week, cool. If it is your vacation or your road trip back to Texas, so be it.
    Enjoy the beach!

  2. John Congdon Says:

I agree with Bruce. If you are not concerned with # of viewers, just do what you want to do. I would watch, just because it is entertaining.

But I also understand that you have to give people what they want if you want to keep them around.

I have a couple of questions:

    1) Where do you find the music you use? Do you know if it is CC licensed?
    2) I wrote a post about my thoughts on iTunes adding the ability to post comments straight to wordpress. I find now that I am watching your video in iTunes, I tend to comment less. Your thoughts? http://bowl365.com/l/nv3

    John,

I didn’t even think of that before… wow, thanks for bringing that up. I guess I would say that my podcast will just not get as many comments as my blog posts since you’re right, people will hardly go to my site if they’re watching the Moxie Mo Show on YouTube or iTunes.

I do not license any of the music, I simply use the music that’s in my collection over the years (primarily songs in iTunes). Guess I could technically get in trouble, but I haven’t yet! Fingers crossed. The “non-lyrical” songs are songs I have found or songs that are a part of iMovie 08 OR songs that Mobie has given me permission to use (Mobie has a website where you can apply to borrow songs he has made for your videos).

Thanks for the comment and I’m glad you’re a subscriber! :)

@Bruce – Thanks Bruce… I appreciate that. I was getting a bit worried. Of course we all want to say we don’t care about the amount of viewers, but truth be told, numbers DO matter to a point. But only to a point. I don’t make a dime off of what I do, but if it’s only ME watching the show, I probably wouldn’t be inclined to make as many as I do. Not sure if that makes sense (primarily answering John’s comment).

    Thank you frienD!
