Microsoft Office On The Web? Watch Out Google Docs!

As I wrote on PC Authorities, Microsoft announced they will soon put their most popular software, Microsoft Office, on the web as well as on their smart phones.

The reason this is a grand idea for those of us who use Microsoft Office on a daily basis is because this will now allow the editing/drafting and accessing of any Office document to happen anywhere (i.e. Firefox, Internet Explorer or Safari). As with Google Docs, you will soon be able to access all of your documents from almost anywhere. Thank you Microsoft!

Now, most bloggers are reporting this is huge news primarily because those who use Google Docs have complained that Google Docs’ formatting and metadata gets “munged” up when opened by Microsoft Office.

So, my friends, who else is excited about this wonderful news regarding Microsoft Office on the Web?
