Hurricane Ike - 10am CST Update

So it looks like the forecasts and the meteorologists were absolutely correct. Ike was a monster (much more damage than Gustav) and the storm surge hit Galveston at TWENTY FEET. That’s a higher storm surge than Katrina, people!

Here’s the 10am update for the track - now the massive storm (Category 1 as of 10:00am CST) is heading directly north and now DFW is in the tropical storm wind warning zone. Yes, DFW will be getting up to 50 mph gusts and 40 mph SUSTAINED winds in the next few hours. Hello no electricity! Ugh!

  1. Annie Says:

When Tsunami hit Southeast Asia, my girlfriend lost all but 10 of her family members. Her parents’ house was slated to ground…and the only document she has now is her marriage certificate and passport. The bank will not release any money to her or the family members because there was not proof of link to the deceased. They were very rich folks. But without any documents they couldn’t make any claim.

I am just relating this incident to say hopefully the ones that decide to stay are ready. Tsunami was not expected, but this hurricane has already been predicted and expected.

OMG - 40,000 people? Oh man, you gave me chills! That’s awful!

    Thanks for the update!
