Are You Paying Too Much For Rent?

Rentometer

From time to time, I love sharing with my readers some really cool websites that I’ve come across in my daily search for the moxiest content out there. I recently found a website that’s for any one who currently lives in an apartment, condo or other rental property.

Rentometer is a site that analyzes your current monthly rent, the number of bedrooms you currently have (as well as other amenities) and then it compares your rent with other people’s rent and property prices in your area. You then find if you’re paying less than others in your area or if you’re paying way too much and thus getting screwed! It’s a brilliant idea and I wish I had known of this website before I decided to rent my own apartment in the Oaklawn district of Dallas!

In this day and age and with a troubling economy, knowledge is power. So I hope this site provides you some insight on whether your apartment complex is loving on you or cheating on you! Enjoy!

Maybe it's been too long since I've rented, but I can't believe the median rent for a two-bedroom apartment in Oaklawn is $1400. That's just about the monthly payment on a $200,000 mortgage. At this point, I couldn't stand the thought of throwing away $1400 every single month.
